This turnip salad is the next step up from the last turnip salad recipe where it soaks in lemon juice, with added flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 Bunch of Turnips
- Juice of 1 Lime
- Salt
- Lemon Pepper
- Cilantro Leaves
- Pumpkin Seed Oil
- Slices of fresh pepper
- Black Sesame Seed
- Slices Red Onion
Instructions
- Slice the turnips very thin, it's best on a mandoline.
- Place them in a bowl, and squeeze fresh lime juice all over them, so that they soak in the juice. Use 2 limes if you want to. Sprinkle on some salt and lemon pepper, and let that sit a few minutes.
- Slice a small pepper. You'll likely only need half a pepper for this, but use what you like. Spicy, mild, or sweet, depending on what you have available. Alternatively, you could sprinkle some sweet or spicy chili flakes on top.
- Take one thin slice of red onion, and then cut it in half, and add a little bit on top.
- Tear off some cilantro leaves, and add it on top.
- Then sprinkle on some black sesame seeds, and drizzle on some pumpkin seed oil.
Notes
I'm really into using pumpkin seed oil these days, for the nutritional benefits. Try to find one that is green.
