It’s common to see turnips cut into chunks for soups, or roasted with other veggies. Did you know, how amazing they taste when they’re sliced up and eaten raw with lemon juice and salt? Here’s a very simple and mouth watering recipe!

Tokyo Turnip Recipe

The tastiest way to prepare tokyo turnips is raw with plenty of lemon juice. We prefer to enjoy these lovely treats, raw rather than cooked. It is a perfect snack, and you can also save them in a bowl in the fridge, using them to top off salads throughout the week.

Ingredients

  • 1 Bunch Tokyo Turnips
  • 1 Lemon (any variety, limes are ok too)
  • Sea Salt
  • choice of toppings

Instructions

  1. Slice the turnips very thin, with a mandoline.
  2. Place them in a bowl, and squeeze plenty of fresh lemon juice.
  3. Add salt to taste. I like to add extra salt to this.
  4. Add toppings like shaved peppers, spring onions, shallots, parsley, whatever you have that works....
