Cherry Tomato Sauce Recipe
I love this sauce because it’s easy to make, and you don’t see cherry tomato sauce often. Normally, it’s made with a bigger tomato. The flavor of the cherry tomato is so nice and the texture of the sauce is thick. This can also be a chilled soup, by adding a cucumber to the blend. Or a warm soup by adding some cream.
Use this for pasta, shakshuka, or anything you like tomato sauce with.
Cherry Tomato Sauce Recipe
Cherry tomatoes make a wonderful, thick tomato sauce.
Prep time: 10 MinTotal time: 10 Min
Ingredients
- 1 Basket Cherry Tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- 1 Bell Pepper, or 2 Little Ones
- 2 Cloves of Garlic, or 1 Small Shallot
- Sea Salt
- Fresh Herb of Choice (parsley, basil, thyme, chervil, mint....)
Instructions
- Remove the stems of the little cherry tomatoes, and wash them.
- Cut the top of the bell pepper stem and cut the pepper in half, then pull the seeds out. Cut the bell pepper into quarters and then in half again.
- Smash the garlic cloves and pull the skin off. Or chop a small shallot. Or you can use both.
- The amount of herbs you use depends on what you're using. 1/4 to 1/2 of a basil or parsley bunch is good. Using something like mint, use less.
- It won't need too much salt, so use a little bit, and then add a little more on top when you pour the sauce on your desired dish.
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
