Green Beans with Lemon Cream Sauce
This is a vegetarian recipe, but can be made with coconut milk, no butter, and a little turmeric for a vegan version. It's a well-loved and flavorful dish!
Ingredients
- green beans
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup cream
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 lemon
- olive oil
- sourdough breadcrumbs
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan.
- Pour 1/4 cup of cream to a measuring cup and slowly pour the hot butter into the measuring cup while whisking it.
- Squeeze juice from half of a lemon, slowly, while whisking. Add salt and pepper.
- Sautee green beans in the same pan and add a little more butter. Sautee on low heat until cooked through.
- Dice 4 cloves of garlic and sautee with a little bit of olive oil until crispy. Put the garlic in a jar and mix some sourdough bread crumbs.
- Pour the cream sauce over the green beans and sprinkle bread crumbs on top. Enjoy!
