Green Beans with Lemon Cream Sauce

This is a vegetarian recipe, but can be made with coconut milk, no butter, and a little turmeric for a vegan version. It's a well-loved and flavorful dish!

Ingredients

  • green beans
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • olive oil
  • sourdough breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan.
  2. Pour 1/4 cup of cream to a measuring cup and slowly pour the hot butter into the measuring cup while whisking it.
  3. Squeeze juice from half of a lemon, slowly, while whisking. Add salt and pepper.
  4. Sautee green beans in the same pan and add a little more butter. Sautee on low heat until cooked through.
  5. Dice 4 cloves of garlic and sautee with a little bit of olive oil until crispy. Put the garlic in a jar and mix some sourdough bread crumbs.
  6. Pour the cream sauce over the green beans and sprinkle bread crumbs on top. Enjoy!
